What is WEEE ?
WEEE is defined as Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment. It is end-of-life electrical and electronic equipment and covers virtually everything with a plug or battery. The rapid changes in technology, media (tapes, software, MP3) and planned obsolescence have resulted in a fast-growing surplus of electronic waste around the globe.
These are classified into several categories for reporting purposes.
BEM recycles the following WEEE.

Why we need to manage WEEE properly ?
WEEE often contain hazardous substances or components that are dangerous for the environment (batteries, ink cartridges, …), but they also have a high potential value when they are properly recycled (ferrous and non-ferrous metal, glass, plastics, …). Thus, the collection and treatment of WEEE allow on one hand to limit the pillage of natural resources, and on the other hand the spreading of pollutants in order to protect our eco-system.
One’s need to worry about its WEEE, as it is a regulatory obligation that significantly reduces one’s environmental footprint.
